TLIN1024A-Q1: Design Concern

Part Number: TLIN1024A-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLIN1021A-Q1

Hi team,

I have two questions on TLIN1021A-Q1&TLIN1024A-Q1 in design:

1. Can we leave LINx pin float if it is not used?

2. Can we put two 220nF cap in series near the Vsup pin instead of one 100nF(in datasheet reference design)? This is considered to protect from overcurrent in case of capacitor short circuit.

Thank you,

Muwei Zheng

  • Muwei,

Thanks for bringing this to TI!

    1. Yes, it is okay to leave the LIN pin floating if it is not used, is there a reason one of the LIN buses won't be used?

    2. Yes, that is okay and I have seen many customers do this.

    Regards,
