What is the difference between TCA9509RVHR and TCA9509MRVHR? Are these devices interchangeable?

    The "M" version of the TCA9509 (TCA9509MRVHR) has different packaging, but the devices themselves are functionally the same.

    In the Package Materials Information section of the data sheet, it is shown that the pin1 position of the device is different between these two orderable part numbers. The TCA9509MRVHR has a pin1 quadrant of Q1, while the TCA9509RVHR has a pin1 quadrant of Q3. Thus, the two devices are different by 90° of rotation in their tape.

    In design, the TCA9509RVHR and TCA9509MRVHR can be used interchangeably as long as the part is oriented correctly on the PCB.
