I am using DS90UB949A-Q1 EVM to implement the HDMI to FPD-Link III scheme, and I want to display the resolution of 1920X1080.

But now when I plug in the HDMI source, the ALP software shows no HDMI input, and when I read the 0x0C register, it has a value of 0x00. Can you take a look at this problem?

  • In order to facilitate your analysis, I have something to add.
    We use the DP output data of SOC to convert it into HDMI (2.0) data, and then connect it to the EVM adapter board.
    When HDMI is directly connected to the monitor, the monitor displays normally. However, after connecting the adapter board, check the HDMI function page with the ALP software and find that HDMI freq is not detected.
    Note: I haven't connected the screen with the deserializer yet. I just want to observe whether the adapter board can receive data after HDMI is inserted. But now he can't accept it. Can you help me see this problem?

    Thanks for the details!
    In order to get an HDMI signal detection, you need to connect a Deserializer to the DS90UB949A-Q1 Serializer. Otherwise, without a Deserializer connection, you would need to set register 0x5C bit[6] high - (board.WriteI2C(serAddr,0x5C,0x42)) to force link detection without a Deserializer connection present.

    Thank you very much for your reply. I tried to set register 0x5C to 0x42, but I still couldn't receive the HDMI signal. At the same time, I would like to ask that the output signal of my SoC terminal is to convert DP signal into HDMI 2.0 signal, will it have any impact? Ds90ub949 converter board can accept HDMI 2.0 signal? Because the HDMI interface I saw in the data sheet of the converter board is HDMI version 1.4.
