TUSB4041I: Main link not working

Part Number: TUSB4041I

In several cards .Main channel not working(USB_DP_UP,USB_DM_UP).The component have 3.3 and 1.1V),GRTSZ=Hi,PWRCTL=Hi,Fullpwrmgmtz=Lo.

What can be the reasons for than?(Except for a damaged IC). Or what else should I check?

Another   phenomena-.I can not see the crystal input(Also in working cards)'unless the main link and another link are connected.

Best Regards

  • Hi Avi,

The crystal will turn off when the hub is in suspend mode - doesn't see any traffic from the host for 3ms+

Can you check that USB_VBUS is 500 mV and the USB_DP is pulled high by the hub?  Please be sure the thermal pad connection has adequate solder.

  • Thanks,

When only the USB channel is connected the Voltage in the USB_VSUB is 500mV.,(with resistor divider of 10K and 90K connected to 5V).When I power on the card, The voltage rise. in few cards to 0.6V and other cards to 1.1V. I think that this is due faulty TUSB4041IPAPR.

In working units, the voltage stays at 500mV  after turning the power on to the card.

  • Hi Avi,

USB_VBUS is an input only and should have a resistor divider network attached.  It should be around 500 mV when connected to a  5V USB port.  If there is a different value on the pin, there could be an assembly issue or poor thermal pad connection.
