Is there a "flowchart" of sorts for setting up this PHY using the MDIO bus? The datasheet has detailed register descriptions but no clear information about a reliable sequence of peeks and pokes that establish link setup for various modes of operation.
If there is a demo or "known good" reference design incorporating boilerplate MDIO setup logic for this PHY that would be welcome as a substitute.
There is a link under "Technical documentation" called "DP83848J User Guide" but this just links to what looks like a whitepaper for the breakout board that incorporates this PHY, with no useful setup information for the PHY itself.
