    Hi Daniel,

    TCAN4550 supports the low-level CAN protocol layer defined by ISO 11898-1:2015. From what I understand, Socket CAN is a higher level protocol that implements the ISO CAN standard as its base layer. Therefore, TCAN4550 would be able to support an application which is using this higher-level control method. 

    We provide demo c drivers for this device in the sample code available on the device's store page. However, the linux drivers for this device are not maintained by TI, so we cannot provide direct support. Please see the community linux forums and repositories for support with linux drivers for TCAN4550.
