Reading through SNLA389A, Table 3-2 Mode Configuration the optimized parameters will "enable shorter linkup time" in the DP83TC814 part.

How do these optimized parameters work and when should they be used (why are the optimized parameters not used as defaults)?

Hi Connor,

These registers are internal signal processing registers and are optimized to get the best performance of linkup time along with many other compliance tests run for this part at different test houses.

Makes sense. Is there a reason the optimized (best performance) is not the default?
