DSLVDS1047: termination with 60ohm

Hi Expert,

My customer have a question,

If they use 60ohm termination resistor, how the device work? They think that the amplitude of the output voltage will be smaller.　Is it correct？

Of course, they understand LVDS should be terminated with100ohm, also it is not recommended condition, not garanteed the device spec.

They want to confirm it as device behavier.

The differential output voltage will be lower, and if the termination does not match the characteristic impedance of the traces/cable, signal quality will suffer and reduce the achievable speed.

LVDS drivers are current mode devices so the overall differential swing of the signal will be smaller correct. In addition the 60 ohm termination may cause reflections that can further distort the signal.
