TPS6598X-CONFIG: The way to load the previous project onto TPS65987EVM with current version of GUI

Part Number: TPS6598X-CONFIG
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65987D,

Hi Team,

My customer designs their application with TPS65987D.
Regarding TPS6598X-CONFIG, they made the project (.pjt) from Version 6.1.1 previously however current version of GUI is Version 6.1.3 in TI web.
I also heard they couldn't load the project onto TPS65987EVM with current version of GUI (Version 6.1.3) as the following.
Could you tell me the way to load the previous project onto TPS65987EVM with current version of GUI (Version 6.1.3)?

Best Regards,
Yaita

  • Hi,

You can do this by creating a brand new project using the same options of your previous project, then go to "Project" -> "Import Settings From Project" -> select your previous project, and the setting of your previous project will be loaded to the new project in GUI v6.1.3.

    Regards.

  • Hi Tommy-san,

I didn't succeed by following the steps you referred.
I attached the previous project that is made by v6.1.1.
    Could you try it too?

    old.pjt

I want to flash the previous project onto TPS65987EVM with current version of GUI (6.1.3).

    Best Regards,
    Yaita

  • Hi,

I will try it on my end and see what happened here. I will get back to you by the end of this week.

Also, can you double check if a low region binary was selected when trying to flash the device?

    Regards.

  • Hi Tommy-san,

In the first place, I couldn't do "Save Binary".
The following "Project firmware file does not exist." was also appeared.
How to update the "General Settings" tab?

    Best Regards,
    Yaita

  • Hi Yaita,

It seems like you used the option "Load Project" here. If you are using "Load Project", you will most likely have to select the low region binary related to the loaded project file (done through "Firmware Base Image" -> "Change File" -> select the low region binary associate with the loaded project file).

What you should do is go to the tool bar at the top, select "Project" -> "New Project" -> "TPS65987DDH" -> "Advanced" -> select the port type you selected when creating old.pjt -> a new template project will be created. After this, you should go to the tool bar at the top, select "Project" -> "Import Settings From Project" -> select old.pjt, then the new template project will be populated with the settings in old.pjt.  After completing these steps your GUI should look like the following picture.

Now you should be able to save the binary.

    Regards

  • Hi Tommy-san,
