SN75DP139: Can it support audio over DVI with a DVI-to-HDMI Cable?

Part Number: SN75DP139

Hi Team,

My customer is designing an IPC and the chipset it's using can support DVI embedded audio. They use our DP139 to convert the DP++ signals to DVI, then they convert the DVI signals to HDMI through a DVI-to-HDMI cable.

I read from a blog that this kind of architecture can enable audio over DVI. Not sure if our DP139 can also support it?

I think that as long as the DP++ source can support DVI embedded audio, the DP139 will not change anything in the TMDS link as it only level shifts the signals. What's you thought on this?

This is the blog I read: https://thetechnologyland.com/does-dvi-carry-audio-heres-everything-you-need-to-know/

Thanks!
