I have to develop an unidirectional Ethernet gateway (10/100 Mbps) with a physical isolation.
For this, I would like to use the 2x IC DP83849IF (copper to fiber) in media convertor mode (A -> B) <- fiber -> (B -> A) and connect only one TX fiber.
Following standards 802.3u, this should produce a Far-End Fault error but the register FEFI_EN probably permit to run properly. Is that right?
Due to the chip shortage, is the DP83849IF a good candidate, or do you have other solution?
