DP83867E: 100Base-TX and 1000-Base-T modes

Dear team,

Customer is planning to use the DP83867 (or DP83869HM) and they would like to make sure both Ethernet phy are compatible with 100Base-TX and 1000-Base-T using the same PCB (4 pairs routed for ethernet).

The PHY would be addressed in RGMII.

 From what I understood by going through the datasheet and the e2e:

  • The PHY can be used in 100Base-TX when addressed in RGMII
  • The PHY uses channels A and B only when in 100Base-T mode (C & D are not used). In 1000Base-T, the 4 channels are used.
  • The configuration of the 100Base-T or 1000Base-T PHY is done internally via registers (in particular the 0x0000 register)

Could you please confirm that the points above would be covered by the DP83867 and DP83869HM?
