SN65DSI83-Q1: Can I use DSI83-Q1 and share the same PCB layout with DSI84-Q1?

I am now working on a display project with two SKUs: single LVDS and dual LVDS and planning to use DSI84-Q1. However, I am wondering if could use DSI83-Q1 for single LVDS and DSI84-Q1 for dual LVDS which shares the same PCB layout? I knew DSI83-Q1's datasheet said RSVD pin should be "Reserved and leave them unconnected." Is it a must follow rule? Could I use the same PCB which only have the open stub on these reserved pin which used for DSI84-Q1?

Hi,

For DSI84-Q1, you can leave the DSI83-Q1 RSVD pins to be unconnected as well.

Thank you for your reply first. Sorry that I don't get your point. Please let me clarify my question. Thank you.

My PCB layout is going to base on DSI84-Q1. For 1-port LVDS application, DSI84-Q1 will not be populated on PCB, but populates DSI83-Q1, which means the RSVD pins of DSI83-Q1 will see the trace from IC pin to LVDS connector. Is that allowable?

Yes, you can still have the DSI83-Q1 RSVD pin connected to the LVDS connector.
