I'm not sure that I understand your question entirely. The DS90UB949A-Q1 offers a bidirectional channel, where the forward channel (serializer to deserializer) carries RGB data, sync signals, I2C, GPIOs, and I2S audio and the backchannel (deserializer to serializer) carries I2C, CRC, and 4 bits of standard GPIO information.

These channels occur on the same connection, but the back channel at a lower speed. The combination of the forward and back channels creates the bidirectional communication between the DS90UB949A-Q1 and DS90UB948.
