Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TRS208, MAX208
Hi.
Please see the attached file.
I want to connect PCB1 DOUT1 and PCB2 DOUT1.
Is it possible?
If it isn't possible, do you have any ideas?
Besr regards.

You must not connect two outputs together. If they drive different values, the resulting voltage will be near 0 V.
The best solution would be to combine the two logic signals with an AND gate, and use a single RS-232 transceiver.
If you cannot change PCB1/2, put two RS-232 transceivers (or a transceiver with more channels like the TRS208/MAX208) on PCB 3.
Hi,
Clemens advise is correct- you should not directly connect to outputs as if they drive different states that could damage the system at worst and at best ruin data. Using a logic circuit like an AND gate or more output channels would be necessary.
If you have any other questions please let me know!
Best,
