SN65DP159: OE affects HPD_SRC

Part Number: SN65DP159

HI team,

I would like to confirm whether the behavior that customer sees are correct or not.

HPD_SRC is affected by OE regardless of HPD_SNK status. Please see below.

Best regards,

Hayashi

  • Hi Hayashi-san,

We have confirmed with an EVM that this behavior does occur with the device. The data sheet is incorrect in saying that HPD_SRC is equal to HPD_SNK in all conditions. HPD_SRC will be disabled when OE is low.

    Thanks,

    Alex

  • Hi Alex,

Can I confirm HPD_SRC = disabled means HPD_SRC pin is high-Z? Regarding the output type of HPD_SRC pin, is it open-drain or push-pull? Customer doesn't implement PU register at HPD_SRC but it works well, so guesses push-pull output.

Also the reported behavior is "OE is Low", will it be same in "0x03 bit3 = 0b" (power down by register)?

    Regards,

    Hayashi

  • Hi Hayashi-san,

You are correct. When HPD_SRC is disabled (Vcc<1.5V or reset) the pin will be high-Z. I believe it is push-pull output.

Low OE is the same as power down mode as you said. You can refer to this table for the different modes:
