XIO2213B: XIO2213B

Part Number: XIO2213B

I am trying to find out if there is a PCIe Firewire 4 card that is Thunderbolt 3 compatible and has the TI chipset that I can install in a PCIe Thunderbolt 3 enclosure so that I can use a legacy firewire audio interface with my windows 10 laptop.
Does such a PCIe card exist for purchase?

  • The XIO2213B conforms to the PCIe specification, and should work in any PCIe slot. Any card should work.

As far as I am aware, the most likely problems are the drivers or the power supply of the Thunderbolt enclosure.

  • Thanks for your response Clemens!  It seems that I am not the only one looking for a solution to this.  The driver for the audio interface was not updated since about 2013, but my understanding is that if windows 10 can be made to recognize the firewire input via a legacy IEEE driver and if the enclosure is working properly I just might have discovered the solution to this issue.  Otherwise, I will have an 800-dollar paperweight!

    I'll let you know.

  • I was referring to the Thunderbolt driver.

(The IEEE-1394 and audio drivers should work the same with Thunderbolt or 'real' PCIe sockets.)

  • Hi Servondo,

Were you able to resolve this issue?  I cannot offer software support for the driver as we did not create them, but I can help answer any questions you have about the XIO2213B.

    Nicholaus

I'm marking this issue as resolved for now.  Let me know if there is anything else we can do to help.
