Hi.

Hope things are running smoothly.

We read the datasheet & the DP838222 EVAL board datasheet.

I just want to make sure we correctly understand the media dependant interface specs :

- DP83822IF offers both 10 BASE -Te , 100 BASE TX & 100 BASE FX

- DP83822I offers 10 BASE-Te & 100 BASE-TX only

The DP83822 EVAL board seems to support both copper & fiber connections by removing / adding discrete passive components only. What would be PHY part number mounted on the eval board ?

Another question for you : could it be possible to realise a 100 BASE Tx to 100 BASE FX media converter circuit using 2 DP83822IF ( one configured in copper mode and the other in fiber mode ) ?

Yes, you can do a 100BASE Tx to 100Base Fx media converter with two DP83822IF.

Sillicon expert says 10 years. Is that correct ?

822 PHYs are still in production and we have no plan on stop supporting them

We don't have any appnote and reference design for BASE-TX to BASE-FX converter using two DP83822IF PHYs. However, it is possible to do TX to FX converter using two DP83822IF PHYs..
