TCA6408A: Why is there a minimum specification for I2C tR/tF? Will there be problems if I don't follow it?

ticr, ticf and tocf have a minimum specification.

I can't understand why.

What happens if this specification is not followed? Because of suppressing noise?

If this specification is not followed, no data glitches, right?

The I²C specification imposes these limits.

The TCA6408A itself does not care, but such fast edges might result in ringing and thus generate false clock pulses.

Thanks for the help on this Clemens.

I can't know for sure why there is a minimum requirement but I have read from other sources that the minimum rt/ft ensures that you have a minimum amount of capacitance on the bus which helps with ringing, as Clemens said, and signal integrity.
