Hi support teams,
Our custmer use LMH1227(LMH1228).
If they connect a bad quality SGI cable to connector , LMH1227 was broke down.
Thie reason might be that unexpected voltage biased to the LMH1227.
Do you have any recommendation of protection IC for SGI signal which is 12G signal line?
Is TPD01E01B04 is enough for protection?
Best regards,
Shoo
Hi Shoo,
When you say " unexpected voltage biased to the LMH1227", you are thinking that it is a transient voltage like ESD/surge, or is it more of a DC short to a higher voltage line?
Regards,
Matt Smith
Hi Smith,
Thanks for prompt reply.
I'm asking my customer now.
however they have not find out the reason yet.
Is there any solution for latter one?
I will promote proper ESD or TVS diode to the customer if we have good solution.
Thanks, Shoo
Hi Shoo,
Assuming that it is a transient event causing the failure, TPD1E01B04 is a good choice for this application.

Matt
