I need to change the VDDIO voltage from 1.8V to 3.3V (Jumper J16) because my SoC is using 3.3V Supply.

My setup is a DS90UB954-Q1EVM connected to a DS90UB953-Q1EVM via coaxial cable. There is no connection with the SoC yet. After starting up and connecting to AnalogLaunchPad, the serializer device is not recognized (UNKNOWN SERIALIZER) and in the "Register" tab I can't write to any registers.

It also seems that I can't read the registers (all have the value 0x0).

I would appreciate a hint.

Could you also upload 'ALP--About this Program' screen shot? See below. I would like to confirm ALP build date has the latest ALP utility and the ALP updated profile.

Could you also upload an image of the whole ALP software? I would like to confirm that you have selected the DS90UB954 as the working profile. If not, go to Tools -> USB2ANY -> delete the current profile -> and select the board that you are working with (DS90UH954) -> Add. You may also need to deselect Demo mode at Preferences.

Could you also send me a picture of your setup 954EVM setup? Please make sure that the I2C lines on pin J25 are not shorted. This would cause an issue with I2C communication.

I use the following version of ALP:

The setup is as follows:

Default jumper settings according to SNLU223B, chapter 4.1.

1) Setup with default jumper settings

After startup I need to change cabling to coax and value of register 0x58 from 0x5A to 0x5E (BC_freq_select == 50Mbps).

After that all works fine for me.

2) Setup as described, but VDDIO selected as 3.3V (J16)

When I set J16 to VDDIO 3.3V in powered off state and the reconnect the power, the behavior is as described.

Dear Christoph,

Can you check if you are able to read from the device using an I2C Host adapter such as Aardvark or USB2ANY? Reading from 0x00 should return the device address. There may be an issue with the I2C communication

Awesome! Glad its working now.

Just a followup. For future reference, this may be a firmware issue on the USB2ANY. Page 35 on the 954 EVM guide goes over how to download and flash the latest USB2ANY firmware.
