DS90UB948-Q1: When DS90UB947-Q1 is used in combination with DS90UB948-Q1, the display screen has no content display

Part Number: DS90UB948-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB947-Q1,

Hi team,

One of our customer's issues, I'm forwarding it below. Could you make some troubleshooting suggestions?

Ds90ub947-q1 is used with DS90UB948-Q1, the pattern test is performed, and the screen is not displayed.

Perform the configuration according to 4.4 Cases in the SNLA132G document. Use the Without FPD-link III scheme and configure 948 to enter Pattern test. The screen displays no information and is backlit.

How should I judge the problem? Please give me a reply. Thank you very much

Best Regards,

Amy Luo

  • Hi Amy,

To clarify, does the customer try to getting patgen to work on just the deserializer first before using patgen over the FPD-Link?

Could you share the script of the patgen registers setting? Also, please provide the specs for the display they are using as well.

    • Use 4.3 Example in the SNLA132 manual for the configuration

      Use the following scheme

There is no external clock, using the 947 internal clock source,

      Current Phenomena:

The screen is only backlit without any output. How to investigate the problem please give experience

      Thank you very much

  • Hi Customer,

Thank you for getting back to me.

I recommend you try to getting patgen to work on just the deserializer first before using patgen over the FPD-Link.

If it is not working, please share the register configurations and register settings for that if there are any issues.

Note that when using internal patgen, the internal oscillator frequency is different for the 947 and the 948. If using the 948, the internal clock runs at 140 MHz and any clock divider would be based off that. The 947 has an internal clock that is 200MHz or 800MHz by selection.

    Regards,

    Josh
