LMH0395: SDI Complement Input

Genius 9880 points

Hi Team,

Hello I'm looking for amore information on the SDI Complement Input (pin 4). Does this act as a differential input? I see where it says it should be terminated to ground. My customer are concerned about EMI noise and wondering if there is anything we can do with this input by bringing it to our front panel to get some common mode rejection. Do you have any app notes or anything dealing with SDI video in noisy/EMI environments?

Thank you.

Regards,
May

  • Hi May,

Yes the complement input has to be terminated with 1-uF and 49.9-ohm Resistor to GND.  To  mitigate EMI or other common mode noise, they can have 150-ohm differential signal coming to the SDI positive and complement inputs. Then when SDI positive trace goes to the BNC the complement input can be routed to 1-uF Cap and 49.9-ohm Resistor.
