AM26LS32ACDBR - Meaning behind the 'B'

Hello,

Can you please help me to find out what the significance of the 'B' in this PN is? My belief is that the device is in a 16-pin SOP package (DB) versus the 16-SOIC package (D). If you could help to confirm this suspicion, that would be great.

Thank you

  • Hi David,

We do not have DB package for this part, at least anymore,  - and digikey redirects that OPN to a website which has a datasheet that confirms this is not an active part number - so it may have been in the past but I am not sure. Based on our naming convention yes the DB would be SOP versus D which is SOIC - however I wouldn't design with the DB device due to us not making that package currently so I don't know what the stock situation would look like in the future. If you have actual units and could share the part markings with me I can confirm if its something that we made - but its not made anymore in this package by us.

Please let me know if you want me to trace the part markings on the top if you already have units.

  • Hello Parker,

Please see the attached phots of the stock we have on hand. I also have this from ti.com and their part marking lookup function:

Please let me know what you find.

    Thank you

  • Hi David,

So the SA32A is part of the marking - which is correct.

I found DB devices in our lot code system.

Can you confirm the 2nd and 3rd lines of the parts are labeled:

    2nd line: \TI Symbol/ D5K

    3rd line: AV57

If this is correct - you may have counterfeit devices and please go here: https://www.ti.com/support-quality/quality-policies-procedures/anti-counterfeit.html for next steps. As I was able to pull data for this part over the last ~10 years and I didn't find this marking.

However if I am just misreading the picture I could be mistaken - if so please let me know and I will search again.

  • Hi Parker,

After reviewing the pictures, I am seeing the 2nd line of text is "05K". Does this match what you are able to see?

    Thank you

  • Hi David,

Thanks for the clarification - I am still not pulling up any information on this. I suspect these might be counterfeit - please see the link I posted in my last reply as that should guide next steps - there could be something I am missing (this part is pretty old - so I may not have all the lot information) but the link should help guide next possible steps.
