TUSB320: USB-C 5V to 12V DC-DC Boost

Part Number: TUSB320

Hi,

I would like to drive a small 12V motor through a 5V USB-C. The motor requires around 12V @ 0.5A to 1A i.e. max 12W which with 15W USB-C should be easily doable with a DC-Boost converter. I was thinking of using TUSB320 as a UFP CC-Controller to monitor the sources (DFP) capabilities. Additionally, I would like the chip to be able to interpret the BC1.2 standard however, I didn't find such CC Controller in your portfolio.

My questions:

  • What DC-DC boost would you suggest with good efficiency for 5V to 12V conversion?
  • Do you maybe have an IC which works as a CC-Controller and a DC-DC Boost?
  • Which IC would you suggest for the protection solution of the USB-C?
  • Maybe I wasn't looking well, but do you have a CC Controller which also works with legacy BC1.2?

Kind Regards,

Den

    • What DC-DC boost would you suggest with good efficiency for 5V to 12V conversion? Pls check with DC-DC group
    • Do you maybe have an IC which works as a CC-Controller and a DC-DC Boost? we don't have such device.
    • Which IC would you suggest for the protection solution of the USB-C?  any ESD device for USB2 and USB3 should work
    • Maybe I wasn't looking well, but do you have a CC Controller which also works with legacy BC1.2? we don't have CC controller for BC1.2
