Hi David,
Thank you for your question. The device ID can be used to identify devices, but another option would be the FPD3_RX_IDX registers of the 953 (Addresses 0xF0-0xF5). These registers each contain one part of the device name. I've included an example from the data sheet below.

It seems these registers from 0xF0-0xF4 in UB954 store "UB954" is not serializer "UB953" or "UB913"

For example, UB913 I2C slave addr is different from UB953.

Yes, if you read register 0x5B of the UB954 the value will reflect the linked serializer's unique ID.
