LMH0303: Application of LMH0303

Part Number: LMH0303
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH0397, LMH0307

Hi team,

    Need your support !

The customer is evaluating the their new project, They wanted to know whether ourLMH0303 can support dual screens output  while the input is a pair of differential signals.

NAN

  • Hi Nan,

Screen 1 and 2 cannot use the same 75-ohm driver. Each one should have its own 75-ohm driver. LMH0303 has two positive outputs and one will go to each screen. Another option is LMH0397 since this part has SDI retimer therefor the output signal is much cleaner. Please ask your customer to take a look at the LMH0397 since this part has two positive 75-ohm outputs as well.

  • Hi Nasser,

        Thanks for your reply.

After talking with customer, they wanted transport the data in single-ended output instead of differential output. So could you please verify their application shown below?

In addition, according to your words,  LMH0303 has two positive output. But i feel confused that as datasheet written, the LMH0303 has one positive serial data output(named SDO) and one serial data complement output(named SDO ---  ). I feel confused about that. Please help me to figure it out.

  • Hi Nan,

My mistake. I was thinking about LMH0307. LMH0307 has two positive outputs. It would be better to use LMH0307 versus LMH0303.

    Regards,,Nasser

  • Hi Nasser,

THANKS for your reply. I figured out the positive output.

But the customer still wanted to used LMH0303 to two screens. The SDO was linked to the one screen. The SDO(-) was linked to another screen shown below. Could you please give me an accurate response ,yes or no?

  • Hi Nan,

For SDI applications your customer can do this. Please note cable to both screen needs to be used. Otherwise one output is terminated while the other output is not. This could affect performance.
