Hi,

What is the tolerance for the 2nF capacitor used on CEXT pin2? What about the temp rating? X7R, C0G?

I also checked the evaluation board schematic and it uses a 100nF capacitor. Which is correct, the datasheet or reference design?

    Hi Jeevan,

    Please use the datasheet value of 2nF. The capacitor should have a tolerance of 10% or less and will have a maximum of 3.3V on it. Temperature rating should be equal to that of the PHY or of your application. There is no requirement for capacitor type.
