DS90UB941AS-Q1: Access remote slave when 941 don't have DSI input

Hi team,

My customer want to access remote slave when 941 don't have DSI input, and don't have external reference clk. Is it possible?

  • Do we need to configure 941 other registers expect for I2C pass through, I2C alias and I2C ID?
  • For 948 0x34[6] RX_LOCK_MODE, default value is 0x0. It means that 948 won't lock to 941 if there is no active video signal from SoC, right? If 948 unlock to 941, can SoC access remote slave? From the test, some can access, some can't. Could you kindly give some comments here?

  • Hi Jiawei,

    That's expected since without external ref CLK, the Always-on CLK is used which is only meant for debug and not guaranteed to meet the jitter spec all the time so sometimes you will be able to access and sometimes you won't.
