TLK2711-SP: Transients in Input Voltage

Part Number: TLK2711-SP

I had a question as to if certain transients in the supply voltage of the TLK2711 transceiver would cause issue or be of any concern.

We have a voltage regulator feeding into the supply voltage of the transceiver. There is data that shows that some transients may occur from the regulator where the voltage surpasses the max of the transceiver. Would ~400-500 mV spikes over 2.5V be a major issue? Does duration matter?

  • Hi,

Permanent device damage should not occur if you are within the absolute maximum ratings of the device.  With that said, this would exceed the operating conditions of the device, so we cannot guarantee its behavior during these supply transients.

    Thanks,
    Drew
