TCAN1051HGV: TCAN1051HGVD and TCAN1051HVD

Part Number: TCAN1051HGV

I have supplied Vcc (Pin3) - 5V and VIO (Pin 5) - 3.3V. I am expecting a 3.3V level on RXD pin but receiving 5V which is causing my 3.3V microcontroller to sink more current.

Alternatively I have replaced TCAN1051HGV/ TCAN1051HVD with ATA6564-GAQW1 and it is working perfectly i.e receiving 3.3V level on RXD pin.

Please let me know what could be the reason for this.

Can you share the topside marking of the TCAN device? The way you've supplied VCC and VIO it should be working as you expect it to, so I want to verify that you have the right part number.

Thank you, these are indeed valid TI devices, but in our internal system they are showing up as a hex buffer. Can you take a picture of the device and share it? And can you share a schematic and any waveforms you've captured?

As I said, the way you've described your setup the logic voltages should be translated to 3.3V, but RXD is outputting 5V which would indicate that this is either a non-V device or something else entirely.

Hai Eric,

We identified that the devices with issue are purchased from traders but not from Arrow / TI / Mouser. We have tested the parts that are purchased from Mouser and TI and found that they are very working fine.

Hope the issue is with the supplier.
