Hi Expert

my customer is using DS125MB203, some questions need your help. 

in the datasheet, there is one bit called short-circuit protection, I think it is for TX very short routing w/ less insertion loss, so when could I open this protection, what is the threshold dB?

    Hi Chi,

    My understanding is that the primary reason to enable/disable short circuit protection is whether the signal is self contained within a system or goes to an external connector.  I believe there is not a specific insertion loss threshold for which this should be enabled/disabled.

    You could run simulations with this device model to see if it will offer sufficient performance for your system.
