TS3DV642: DP1.4 resolution checking

Hi Sir,

My customer is asking both DP1.4 mux devices TS3DV642 and HD3SS214, could they meet the below resolution?

For VESA DP1.4 with DSC function

3840 x 2160 @ 120Hz; 3840 x 2160 @ 144Hz; 2560 x 1440 @ 240Hz; 7680 x 4320 @ 60 Hz

For MST function with DSC1.2

Single display supports up to 8K@30Hz or 8K@60Hz

Dual displays support up to 4K@60Hz or 8K@30Hz

Triple displays support up to 4K@30Hz or 8K@30Hz

    Hi,

    Both TS3DV642 and HD3SS214 do not care about the resolution. As long the data rate of the resolution is 8.1Gbps (DP1.4), both device will be able to support it. With 8.1Gbps data rate, signal integrity will be a challenge depending on the system design. I would recommend having a DP redriver such as DP141 or DP142 in the system to boost signal integrity.
