Hi team,
Random signals must be output with 10base-t/te compliance testing.
However, I do not know how to output the signal.
What should I write to the register?
Best regards,
Takatoshi
Hi Takatoshi,
You can refer to register 0x25 in the datasheet.

Hi Gokul,
Thank you for your reply.
Successfully output random signals.
I have a question about something else.
Is the following script to output 10base-t standard signal correct?
When I run the script, the waveform does not appear.
Best Regards,
Takatoshi
Hi Takatoshi,
Can you please let me know what is the expecting signaling you need? I can try to check if the register configuration is correct.

Hi Gokul,
Thank you for your reply.
Im expecting 10Base-T TP_IDL signal.
TP_IDL signal indicates the end of packet of 10Base-T.
Best Regards,
Takatoshi
Hi Takatoshi,
I think you can't see the signals you are expecting as there is no packet transmission. When set in this mode, it is expected that packets sent from the MAC to appear on the MDI lines.
If MAC is not connected and you still need packets to be sent, you can a custom packet generator internal to the PHY.
For this feature, in addition to above registers, please program 0x0016 = 0xF020.

Hi Gokul,
Thank you for your reply.
In the following document, TP_IDL can be tested with 10Base Standard signal, is this correct?
Sorry, The signal didnt appear because I mistake the code.
The waveforms in the following picture were observed with a 10baseStandard script. However, this is a Link Pulse signal.
This is not a 10base standard signal, is it?
Best Regards,
Takatoshi
Hi Takatoshi,
The waveform you are observing is link test pulse. Can you please confirm if 0x0016 = 0xF020 is programmed?

Hi Gokul,
Thank you for your reply.
I think so. I programmed 0x0016 = 0xF020.
Not connected to link partner. Does it need a link partner?
Best Regards,
Takatoshi
Hi Takatoshi,
The behavior is a bit strange. Please give me until Tuesday to recreate this in our lab and get back to you.

Hi Takatoshi,
Please try the following
With these settings I was able to get this working in my setup.

Hi Gokul,
Thank you for your reply.
I was able to get TP_IDL signal with your scripts.
But, it was failing on the 10Base-T TP_IDL test.
Is it because it is 10Base-Te? Do you have a solution?
Best regards,
Takatoshi
Hi Takatoshi,
Compliance scopes usually have an option to select 10Base-T or 10Base-Te. Please select 10Base-Te and reverify.
Are these tests done now with or without twisted pair model (TPM)? If the tests are carried out with TPM, please make sure that you are using TPM corresponding to 10Base-Te and not 10Base-T.

Hi Gokul,
Thank you for your reply.
In this measurement environment, 10Base-Te could not be selected because the application is old.
Is there an evaluation board that can do 10Base-T compliance testing with your products?
Best regards,
Takatoshi
Hi Takatoshi,
All the our latest PHYs support 10Base-Te only.
