DP83869HM: SGMII configured as serdes protocol but fail to Ping

Hi Allen,

There are many reasons why a design may be failing to ping. Please send me a comprehensive and searchable schematic, as well as a register dump of registers 0x00-0x1E, and 0x6E.

 just for the quick check of the DP83869HM device, i just see there is only one register of 0x4F SERDES_SYNC_STS mention about the serdes.

 does the DP83869 support serdes mode ?

Hi Allen,

I believe SerDes implies SGMII signalling. Was the "SerDes(RGMII)" in your first post a typo? In this case, I am assuming you are hoping to operate the device in RGMII-to-SGMII bridge mode. Is this correct?

Please share a register dump of registers 0x00-0x1F, 0x6E, 0xC00, 0xC01.

Also share a comprehensive and searchable schematic.

 tks for your comments. just confirm with the customer ,they use the RGMII-to- 1000base-x Mode can ping with the 4G LTE module.

Hi Allen, 

This may be the problem, then. It sounds like you want the device to be in RGMII-to-SGMII bridge mode for the SerDes operation, but are in the incorrect mode. Please send me a reading of register 0x6E to confirm the mode, and try changing it to RGMII-to-SGMII mode.
