Hi Expert,

Our customer uses our TCAN1044-q1 and find a weird situation. As you can see below, TCAN1044 works well if there is no extra two wire. When adding two extra wire and there is no third CAN connected, sometimes there is no CAN signal on the CAN bus. May you help give some possible reason? Thanks.

    Elec,

    Adding two unterminated wires like this will add impedance mismatch to the bus and can cause signal reflections. These signal reflections can then cause ringing or general degradation of the CAN signal and the waveforms will not be interpreted correctly by the CAN receiver. 

    Do you have any pictures of the failing waveforms?
