DS90UB953-Q1: Serilaizer and Deserilizer Register Settings Enquiry - FPD Link 3

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB960-Q1, , DS90UB960-Q1EVM

Hi TI team,

We are currently working on FPD LINK3 interface design and bring up for our camera products .

We have serializer hardware prototype ready which hosts DS90UB953-Q1 and working on deserializer hardware hosting DS90UB960-Q1.

and ,

Also we are expecting DS90UB960-Q1EVM (Deserializer Evaluation Module)  to be received in a week to evaluate our serilaizer hardware.

We have below queries ,

1. is there any software developer guide for this deserializer and serializer bringup ?

2. is there any sample driver or register settings sequence available to refer ?

3. did Daughter card (DS90UB953-DC1) with sensor mounted (OVT10460) will be shipped along with serializer EVM , if we place order ?

Thanks

  • Hello Elango,

    1. is there any software developer guide for this deserializer and serializer bringup ?

The datasheets for the devices on TI.com would be the best starting point for understanding device functionality and programming. We also have this bringup guide which is for similar 954+953 products which could be referenced:

    https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/snla267

    2. is there any sample driver or register settings sequence available to refer ?

This depends heavily on what exactly you are trying to do so if you can provide more detail on what you want to achieve then we may be able to help provide a reference but I would also suggest to read through the 960 datasheet first to get an idea of functionality

    3. did Daughter card (DS90UB953-DC1) with sensor mounted (OVT10460) will be shipped along with serializer EVM , if we place order ?

The sensor daughter cards are no longer sold with the 953 EVM. The user's guide online was updated to reflect this. The EVM user's guide includes the schematics for the board which has a connector for the CSI-2 interface, so if you would like to create your own sensor daughter card for the EVM, that is the recommended method. Alternatively, no sensor daughter card is needed to exercise basic functionality with the EVMs such as establishing an FPD-Link and enabling PATGEN or communicating back and forth across the channel.

    Best Regards,
