DS90UB960-Q1: CSI2 Aggregation Bandwidth Calculator

Part Number: DS90UB960-Q1

Dear expert,

I use below tools for CSI calculation.

1. Some column are hidden , like C, J, K , L, M. I cannot Unhide them in this excel. Could you send us original table?

2. For page "2M camera", B16 5.53G is total CSI bandwidth gotten by 1.6G*4-CSI overhead?

3. For page "2M camera", B15 4.24G is gotten by H*V*Frame*bits*camera # ?

Thanks

  • Hello,

Thank you for your questions. The hidden columns are not necessary for using the bandwidth calculator, which is why they are hidden.

B16 or total output bandwidth is a little complicated to calculate. This is the total aggregated bandwidth of the deserializer and depends on the lane speed, number of lanes, and the video parameters of the cameras I'd recommend reviewing this video from the learning center. It includes and explains all the equations used for the calculation as well as the background behind them.

B15 or total input bandwidth is calculated by summing the bandwidth from each port/camera. Where each camera's bandwidth is calculated from:

    H*V*frame rate*(bits/pixel)*blanking

  • Hi Darrah,

Ryan and I cover the same customer. Thanks for the detailed explanation. I think I can provide the answer to Ryan's question after watching the video you shared. Please ignore that question.

Could you help to explain what does this this value "Imager Per Lane MIPI Speed (Mbps/lane)" mean? Thanks!

    Lijia

  • Hi Lijia,

Glad to hear that the video was helpful. "Imager Per Lane MIPI Speed" is the speed that the image sensor/camera will be transmitting data to the serializer.
