TRS3222: RS232/RS422 multiprotocol solutions.

Please suggest suitable products

customer need the RS232/RS422 multiprotocol solutions.

The RS232 and RS422 share same output connection (same pin), and pin define will go like this:

    TI does not make any such device. You have to combine an RS-232 and an RS-422 transceiver.

    Hi Gareth,

    Clemens is correct - at this time we do not have a multi-protocol device. Depending on system parameters (such as data-rate and bus length) using an analog multiplexer (capable of passing +/-15V signals for RS-232, which usually means needing a +/-15V supply) is a possible work-around.
