for DS port, 15k pulldown is needed on both DP/DM, also need vbus switich to control DS port Vbus.

I see. Ok, it was not clear in the pin description, but 15kohm resistors were shown in page 16 of the datasheet. I am only using 5 ports, do I need to place those resistors on all DS or just the DS I am using?

Also, on my main question. How about the 1.5kohm DP0 pull-up? Is it still needed if I have a permanent connection with a USB host controller, such as USB3320?

it still needed for DP0 pullup.

this this basic usb FS Schematic Check

• 1.5K pull-up resistor on DP of upstream (host facing) port
• 15K pull-down resistors on DP / DM of downstream (device facing) ports
• 30 ohm series terminations and 22 pF capacitors are also recommended on DP and DM of both upstream and downstream ports with the 22 pF located closest to the hub device pins.

Thanks. DP0 is pulled-up on host device internally, that's why PORTDIS logic is HIGH when I removed 1.5kohm on my board. 

I just jerry-rigged the connection to a different OTG device, I did not change anything on the schematics, it worked, all status HIGH (except for SUSPND). It is confusing that I did not have 15k PD DS, but DS devices are still recognized.

Maybe just luck, you  will have interop issue if no 15k PD on Downstream port.

So do I need the PD on all ports or just the ports I am planning to use?
