DP83TG720S-Q1: 100BASE-TI and 1000BASE-T1

Hello,

My customer is considering using the DP83TG720S-Q1 for an automotive application.

Is it possible to use the DP83TG720S-Q1 to support 100BASE-T1 and 1000BASE-T1 according to the user's settings?

    Hi JH,

    TI doesn't have automotive ethernet PHYs which support dual speed (100M and 1000M).

    However, the automotive ethernet PHYs TI develops are pin-2-pin compatible.
    We can leverage this to make a common design/layout for both 100M and 1000M applications. You can use DP83TG720 for 1000Base-T1 and DP83TC812 for 100Base-T1. Switch over between these both parts can be done with few BOM changes.
    We can support you with relevant hardware rollover guides for your design.
