DS90UB953A-Q1: DS90UB953A-Q1

Part Number: DS90UB953A-Q1

Hello,

in extension to my former forum request ds90ub953a-q1-supported-csi-data-types I have the following question:

If the 953/954 just forward CSI packets, are there any restrictions regarding SOF/EOF short packet framing around long packets? Could we also send odd sequences like

- SOF VC0; LONG VC0; LONG VC0; SOF VC1; LONG VC1; LONG VC1; EOF VC0; LONG VC0

or

- just long packets without SOF or EOF?

  • Hello Juegren,

There are no restrictions on SOF/EOF framing or sequence of VCIDs or sequence of short vs long packets. The only implication is that the detected resolution features in the registers of the deserializer may not report meaningful results, but the actual data pipeline will work correctly.

You can also just send only long packets with no SOF/EOF but in order to do that you must disable this deserializer side feature which is enabled by default (example snipped from the 954 datasheet):

    Best Regards,

    Casey
