The TCA9548AEVM works with the TCA9545A, which is pin compatible. But it does not use the QFN package (to allow resoldering).

Why do you care about the package? The electrical characteristics do not change (except for the thermal resistance).

I have DIN PCA9545ARGYR on a new project and now the customer wants an EVM board to do the evaluation first, this is why I raised the question.

The evaluation can be done with the TCA9548AEVM and a PCA9545APWR/T soldered to it. The electrical characteristics are the same for the PW and RGY packages.

Hi Shawn,

Clemen's comment is correct. The customer should be able to evaluate the PW package since the die between the two are the same (should functionally behave the same way). The differences in package would mainly be parasitics of leadframe/bond wires and the thermal impedances which shouldn't cause much differences since this is likely a low power application.
