TRS232E: Not utilizing the charge pumps

Hi Experts,

Good day.

TRS232E has pin access to the Vs+ and Vs- pins that are generated from the charge pumps, which are used to generate the RS232 output voltage levels. I would like to not utilize the charge pumps and externally supply my own desired voltage to these pins. So for instance supply them with a precise +/-10 Volts or +/-5 Volts.

It is not possible to disable only the charge pumps.

There are RS-232 transceivers without charge pumps, e.g., SN75C185, SN75C1406.

HI Josel,

Clemens is correct - you can't disable only the charge pumps - the devices listed do not have integrated charge pumps and will allow you to have more control over the driver voltage.
