DP83TD510E: power-up requirements

Part Number: DP83TD510E

Hello,
the figure 6-1 in the datasheet shows the power up diagram. Is this optional or mandatory.

Questions:

- is the clock XI needed in the power up phase?
- they want to use the clock generated by the MCU and so it is a little delayed
- does the reset have to be low during powering up?
- do you have MCU example code or an app note?
- is there any speciality on the Internalisation where the MCU has to care for?

Regards, Holger

  • Hi Holger,

If you cannot ensure the power up requirements shown in figure 6-1, the reset pin must be toggled once conditions are stable.

    To answer your questions:

    • clock must be available at power ramp. If it is not, a reset is required.
    • reset should be held low and released when clock and power are stable.
    • no, we do not have MCU example code
    • I can not give any recommendation for MCU careabouts

    Thanks,

    David
