DS90UB933-Q1: Can we use 4 bit SDIO as parallel data input of Serializer DS90UB933?

Part Number: DS90UB933-Q1

Hello TI Experts:

We want to use TI FPD link serializer to output our data to another ECU, but we only have parallel data interface in our SOC side. Can you please help to check belows questions?

1. What's the parallel data interface supported by serializer like DS90UB933? Only YUV or others?

2. Is it possible to use 4 bit SDIO or QSPI as parallel data input of serializer like DS90UB933? We have 4 bit data lines + 1 clock, but don't have Hsync and Vsync.

3. If SDIO or QSPI is not supported, is any other method to use serializer? Like data converter? We aslo have RGMII interface in our SOC, is this possible?

Regards

Kevin

  • Hello Kevin,

    I have some initial questions.

    1. What deserializer are you planning on using?
    2. What video format are you needing?
    3. Are you planning to use this at 8, 10 , or 12 bit mode?

  • Hi Glenn,

    Please see below reply:

    1. Paralle data output Deserializer like DS90UB934 will be used to pair with Serialiazer

    2. Not specific video format, just send our data out through 4 bit SDIO.

    3. Because we only have 4 bit SDIO interface, if we just use 4 bit and set the other 4 bit to 0 in 8 bit mode, in the deserializer we also just use the corresponding 4 bit data, is this OK?

    Regards

    Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the clarification. Are you not planning on sending any video data on this setup? Where will you get eh pixel clock? Is it possible for you to put together a simple block diagram of what you would like?

Just to clarify SDIO, you are referring to secure digital input out?
