Hello Shmuel,
This depends on your use case. If your I2C Master is connected at the DES side and you are communicating with the SER over the Back Channel and using this communication to communicate and configure the other slaves on the SER side, then the SER always works as Master in this case. If you have another Master at the same I2C Bus, then this master must support Multi-Master arbitration.

Do you mean your I2C Master is attached to the SER? i.e. on the same I2C bus?

Can the controller control the 953? Is this connection is valid?
