Dear Technical Support Team,

Is SN75ALS172AN pin compatible with SN75ALS172N?

SN75ALS172N has delivery issue, so I'd like replace the A version.

These are both DIP package.

However I didn't find SN75ALS172N datasheet because of japan only version.

All '172 and '26x31 devices are pin compatible. You could use the SN75LBC172(A) (lower power) or AM26LS31/AM26C31 (cheaper, smaller voltage range).

As far as I can see, -A devices have a higher signaling rate.

As Clemens said, these devices are indeed pin-to-pin compatible. Just make sure that the functions the customer needs, like data rate, voltage rating, etc. are still being met with the pin-to-pin compatible device.
