TUSB212: En sequencing

Part Number: TUSB212
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB542

The TUSB212I has to come out of reset (RSTN) after supply has reached 3V. We are using TPSM82 regulators that ramp up about 1ms after Enabled and I plan on using a GPIO to pull TUSB212I out of reset.

So, the  question is, since I am suing TUSB320I as CC controller and TUSB212I as usb2 re-driver, do these devices have to be enabled at the same time? How does that work with 50ms delay to enable TUSB320I part, I suppose you would delay both for 50ms. Thirdly, how about TUSB542 being added to the mix.

  • Hi Steve,

I am working on determining whether these devices need to be enabled at the same time or can be done separately, and should have an answer for you tomorrow.

In the mean time, would it be possible for you send a block diagram of the intended system, including the TUSB542?

    Thanks,

    Ryan

  • Hi Steve,

For pulling the TUSB212I out of reset, it would be best to do it as soon as the supply voltage reaches the specified levels, as this will prevent any errors that may occur during FS Enumeration or between the duration that TUSB320I is not enabled.

You should be able to use the GPIO to enable all three devices at different times, so I would recommend that you do that,

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
