DS90UB960-Q1: DS90UB960 remote Reg Value

Question What Dose the (Reserved ) bit in Reg 0X52 Indicate?

Also,

Looking for help to determine  root cause of an issue..

The issue is  corrupt vision data. The only way currently to clear this issue is to do a power cycle of the vision system.

Our vision team has been reviewing and scrutinizing our drivers and code to no prevail.

The Register dumps indicate  (Back Channel CRC error ) also a (Reserved ) bit is set.

The  same type of error has been recreated with a desk top set up.  This set up consist of a DS90UB960-Q1EVM with four Camera modules (DS90UB953 + IMX219 cameras)

The same Camera modules (DS90UB953 + IMX219 cameras) are used on our Vision system.

With the Desk top system the same type of errors have been recreated 3 different ways.

  • As described above. DS90UB960-Q1EVM with four Camera modules (DS90UB953 + IMX219 camera)
  • DS90UB960-Q1EVM with four Camera modules (DS90UB953 with out IMX219 camera)
  • DS90UB960-Q1EVM with three TI DS90UB953A-Q1EvM

The issue can be created on the Desk top set up, by running  the Analog LaunchPad software Margin Test several times  until one of the channel starts to have continuous incrementing Parity Error counts  after re linking.

When the power is cycled to the DS90UB953 of the channel witch shows continuous incrementing parity errors, The following happens. With  power  removed the parity error counts stops. When power is restored  the Parity Error counts will continued to increase after the camera is re-linked.

when  the  PDB  ( Power-Down\sleep) input of the DS90UB960 IC  is cycled . The results is that the error condition is cleared.

Both Register Logs, One from our vision system and the other from the TI Analog launch pad had the same error code

Reg 0x052  with data 0x67  (Back Chanel CRC error ) also a (Reserved ) bit is set.
